Hair Transplant vs Scalp Micropigmentation: Which Is Right?

A hair transplant and scalp micropigmentation (SMP) are both excellent options for hair loss, but they do very different things. Choosing between them, or combining them, comes down to what you actually want.

What each one does

A hair transplant restores real, growing hair by moving your own follicles, so you can style and grow it. SMP is a non-surgical treatment that places tiny pigment deposits to mimic the look of hair follicles, creating a defined, closely shaved appearance or the impression of more density, without surgery.

Which suits you?

If you want to grow and style your hair, a transplant is the route. If you prefer a sharp, shaved look, want to add the illusion of density quickly, or wish to soften a scar, SMP may be ideal. They also work beautifully together, with SMP adding depth behind a transplant.
