What areas can dermal fillers treat?

How long do dermal fillers last?
Most fillers last somewhere between 6 and 18 months depending on the product, the area and how your body metabolises it. Areas that move a lot, such as the lips, tend to break the filler down faster. We talk through longevity for your specific plan at consultation.
How do you keep filler results natural?
Natural results come from restraint and from assessing the whole face, not just the area that bothers you. We use the smallest amount that achieves a balanced change, build gradually where more is needed, and would rather do less than overfill. If a concern is better addressed a different way, we say so.
Which type of filler is right for me?
There is no single best filler; the right choice depends on the area, the effect you want and your skin. Firmer products suit deeper structural support along the jaw and cheeks, while softer ones suit fine, mobile areas such as the lips. We select and place it based on a full facial assessment rather than a menu.

Do dermal fillers hurt?
Most people find the treatment very tolerable. Many fillers contain a local anaesthetic, and we can apply numbing cream beforehand, so discomfort is usually mild and brief. You may have some tenderness, swelling or small bruises for a few days afterwards.
Is there downtime after fillers?
Downtime is minimal. You can usually return to normal activities the same day, though you may have mild swelling or bruising for a few days. We give aftercare advice, such as avoiding heavy exercise and alcohol briefly, to help everything settle smoothly.
Can dermal fillers be dissolved?
Many hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved with an enzyme if needed, which is one reason they are widely used. This is discussed at consultation. It is another reason to choose an experienced clinician who assesses carefully before treating.
How much filler will I need?
It depends entirely on the area and the change you want, so it is agreed at your consultation rather than quoted blind. We would always rather start conservatively and review than overtreat in one sitting.
Are dermal fillers safe?
When assessed properly and placed by a trained clinician, dermal fillers have a strong safety record. Risks are discussed openly beforehand, and choosing an experienced clinician who assesses carefully is the single biggest factor in a safe, natural result.
