How Long Does a Hair Transplant Take?

How Long Does a Hair Transplant Take?

A hair transplant is usually a one-day procedure, but the day is longer than many people expect. Knowing roughly how long it takes, and why, helps you plan and settle in for a comfortable session.

On the day

Most procedures take somewhere between four and eight hours depending on the number of grafts. Larger sessions of several thousand grafts sit at the upper end. The time is spread across careful extraction, preparing the grafts and precise placement, with breaks along the way, and you are comfortable throughout under local anaesthetic.

Why it takes time

The care taken is exactly what protects your result. Extracting each follicle without damage and placing it at the right angle and depth cannot be rushed, and a surgeon who takes their time is a good sign, not a slow one. Quality here lasts a lifetime.
