Tear Troughs and Under-Eye Hollows

Hollows and shadows under the eyes can make you look tired even when you are not. These are often called tear troughs, and they are one of the areas people most want to address, and one of the most delicate to treat well.

What causes them?

As the face ages it loses a little support around the eye, and the groove between the lower lid and cheek can deepen and cast a shadow. Genetics and skin quality play a part too, which is why the right treatment differs from person to person.

What can help

Where a genuine hollow is casting a shadow, carefully restoring a small amount of support can soften it. The tear trough is a precise area, so it is assessed and treated conservatively, and only when it genuinely suits your anatomy. Sometimes improving the skin quality is the better route.
